"This book includes such a range of quirky, entertaining stories; you cannot help but smile reading them."
"Let's hope it's a first collection of many."
"One Street Corner Too Soon is stunning - a perfect way to end a great book"
"I think the mark of a good story is if it a) makes you think and b) stays with you after you've read it. Not one story in this book let it down."
"I love the diversity of this collection and will definitely keep a look out for more work from this author. Recommended."

Somewhere to Start From is a collection of my short stories. Many have won prizes or been shortlisted in a variety of competitions, so it would be of particular interest to anybody entering writing contests, as well as anybody who likes their fiction short, and varied in theme and style. I wrote a bit more about the book in this blog post. Here's the blurb:
In this anthology of twenty-two* short stories, an eclectic host of characters discover no matter where life takes them, its only ever somewhere to start from. Here are stories of redemption, revenge, and unrequited love. Relationships fail, new ones are kindled, existing ones shift and change. There are stories about gods, monsters, angels, robots, hellish hotels, body-builders and body-snatchers, and ordinary people just doing whatever they can to get by. The collection includes stories published in print and online, in Writers' Forum and on The Guardian website, and stories that have won prizes or been shortlisted in a variety of competitions, including the H.E. Bates Short Story Competition, Brighton Community of Writers (COW), TxtLit, and The James White Award.
